Wheelchair Use for Passenger Assistance

Wheelchairs provided by our airline are strictly for assisting passengers with mobility needs during boarding, deplaning, and within the airport premises. These wheelchairs are not for personal use outside of these designated areas. Passengers are encouraged to request assistance in advance to ensure availability and a smooth travel experience.

Travel Notice for Skardu Flights:

Due to the resources limitations at Skardu airport, we do not accommodate passengers who require assistance with stairs and are immobile. We kindly ask you to plan your journey with this in mind.

Newborns:

  • Less than 48 Hours Old: Babies can travel at 48 hours of age if they are fit and healthy. A Medical/Birth Certificate is required.
  • Three Days and Older: Fit to travel without additional requirements,

Contagious/ Infectious Diseases:

Passengers with contagious or infectious diseases are not permitted to travel on M/s Airblue aircraft during the contagious stage of their illness.

Cardiac Conditions:

  • Heart Attack/ Stroke/ MI/ Angina: Allowed after 3 days (only if uncomplicated). A fitness medical certificate from a cardiac physician is required.
  • Cardiac Failure: A medical certificate from a cardiac physician is required, confirming your fitness to fly.
  • Angiography: Fit to travel after 24 hours.
  • Angioplasty: Fit to travel after 3 days with a medical certificate from a cardiac physician confirming your fitness to fly.
  • Heart Surgery (CABG):Allowed to travel 14 days after surgery with a fitness certificate from the operating cardiac surgeon.

Passengers with Pneumatically or Electrically Operated Apparatus:

Passengers requiring pneumatically or electrically operated apparatus for medical treatment are not permitted to travel as these devices cannot be operated onboard.

Blind Passengers:

No medical clearance is required. Assistance will be provided by airline staff after check-in.

Hair Transplant/ Aesthetic/ Cosmetic Procedures:

Travel is allowed after 24 hours with a fitness letter from the cosmetic surgeon. For same-day travel, a recommendation from the Airport Health Authority doctor and a fitness letter from the cosmetic surgeon are required.

Orthopedic/Bones:

  • Fractures: Travel is allowed after 48 hours of cast application. Travel within 24 hours of a fracture is permitted with a splint, but a medical certificate and detailed medical notes are required. Unbendable casts will require 3 seats.
  • Major Hip/ Ankle/ Knee Surgery: Allowed after 6 weeks with a medical certificate confirming your fitness to fly.
  • Brain/ Spinal Surgery: Allowed after 14 days with a medical certificate confirming your fitness to fly.

Surgery Cases:

  • ENT Surgery: Travel is permitted 14 days after surgery with a medical certificate, confirming your fitness to fly.
  • Chest Surgery: Allowed after 14 days with a medical certificate, confirming your fitness to fly.
  • Major Abdominal Open Surgery: Allowed after 14 days with a medical certificate , indicating that you are fit to fly.
  • Laparoscopic Abdominal Surgery: Allowed after 7 days with a fitness medical certificate
  • Eye Surgery (Intraocular): Allowed after 10 days with a medical certificate , indicating that you are fit to fly.
  • Cataract Eye Surgery/ Corneal Laser Surgery: Allowed after 48 hours with a medical certificate , indicating that you are fit to fly.

Stretcher Cases:

M/s Airblue does not accommodate passengers on stretchers. Please make alternative arrangements if you require stretcher assistance.

Hearing Impairments:

Deaf or hearing-impaired passengers do not need medical clearance to travel. Please ensure you bring and carry any necessary hearing aids with you.

Indwelling Urinary Catheters:

Passengers traveling with an indwelling urinary catheter should ensure that they are comfortable and prepared for their journey. If you need assistance or have specific requirements, please inform our staff during check-in.

Asthma Sufferers:

Passengers with asthma can travel without needing medical clearance. However, if you have any specific needs or concerns, please let us know at check-in.

Expectant Mothers/Pregnant Ladies: Travel Policy


Single Uncomplicated Pregnancy:

  • Up to 27 Weeks: Travel is permitted without any medical certificate.
  • From 28 Weeks to 34 Weeks: Gynecologist's certificate with Estimated Date of delivery  (EDD) and fitness to travel is required.
  • From 35 Weeks to 36 Weeks: : A time-bound Gynecologist's certificate with Estimated Date of delivery  (EDD) and fitness to travel is required.
  • 37 Weeks and Beyond: Travel is not acceptable.


Multiple Uncomplicated Pregnancy:

  • Up to 27 Weeks: Travel is permitted without any medical certificate.
  • From 28 Weeks to 30 Weeks: Gynecologist's certificate with Estimated Date of delivery (EDD) and fitness to travel is required.
  • From 31 Weeks to 32 Weeks: A time-bound Gynecologist's certificate with Estimated Date of delivery  (EDD) and fitness to travel is required.
  • From 33 Weeks and Beyond: Travel is not acceptable.

Multiple Complicated Pregnancy:

Travel restrictions apply based on the severity of the case.

Important Note for Passengers with Medical Conditions

If you have a medical condition that requires special travel considerations, please be aware that an Indemnity Form will need to be completed at the time of check-in. This form is necessary to ensure that all safety and medical requirements are met.
